Serial murder is most commonly defined as the killing of three or more victims over a period of time with a "cooling off" period between crimes. Although there are volumes of articles and texts written on the subject, serial murder continues to maintain the interest of society for the simple reason that the individuals now commonly known as "serial killers" are difficult to comprehend.
