Dawn Johnson

I am a 40 year old mother of three children (7 year old boy, 5 and 4 year old daughters) who is in the process of retiring from the military medically after 17.5 years.  While most have a wish list of things they want to do before they die, mine has been almost completed.  I do add to it at different times, however the last 2 things on my list are getting a degree in Criminal Law, and living on every continent in the world.  The only continent left is Antarctica, and I have found a way to do that after my youngest is finally in Kindergarten.  I post this portion in all my bios, as it is pretty much not going to change until after I am either retired or the kids have birthdays.

My hobbies are deviant behavior studies, serial predation profiling, and World of Warcraft (and you thought it was only teenage boy geeks in their mothers basements). I am a student of life, and have pretty much been there, done that, and attempted to experience the extremes of culture and life.  One of the reasons I joined the military was to request for almost two decades different assignments all over the world, hence I could explore to my heart's content - on the government dime.

I have been a student of human behavior my entire life, with massive exposure to children deviancy through my mother’s foster care home, having almost 200 children through it with a 98% success rate.  Average rate of success in foster care is around 42%, hence what she learned and taught me works.  At the tender age of 8, I witnessed the arrest of Ted Bundy on the television, and realized I had a burning obsession to find out why he had become what he had, and others had not.

I have worked both locally and with international authorities on cold cases as well as profiling high profile cases.  Often times, my work has been taken seriously, and even sent forward for other forensic experts to consider in their cases.  I have been a follower of John Douglas for quite some time, and he and I have discussed my theories from time to time, with favorable results.  I have also studied Pat Brown, Robert Ressler, and Campbell as well as Denivi’s work. Ann Rule also has added to my arsenal of knowledge, as I have found her interaction with Ted the Troller fascinating.

Open minded, I appreciate everyone's opinions and views, as it is the different viewpoints which cause you to think outside your own box.  With the field changing as much as it does, no one can stand still and wait for the box to work around them.  Serial predation is a virus which we need to continue to strive to maintain, and it is with great effort we do so without burning ourselves out at the same time.
